Today, people can download music extremely easily within seconds off of the internet, as well as have access to a plethora of related genres and artists of the song that they had just downloaded. In other words, it will be of an excellent quality, so that should you decide to play the MP3 on an expensive, powerful stereo system, it will be quite difficult to detect any quality flaws that the song may have. On the other hand, you usually don’t know what kind of quality a song will be when you download it for free, especially if it is not from a reputable website. The quality can be anywhere from 32kbps, which is terrible for listening, to 128kbps, which is barely acceptable for listening too. If you were to play a 128kbps quality song on that same aforementioned stereo system, you would probably immediately be able to tell that the recording is of a fairly mediocre quality.
