Downloading Mp3 Files Is Easy

This may also not solve the problem because saving the file on the hard disk may not allow it to have its normal file extension.

Webmasters are smart enough and they usually upload files with unusual file extensions so that they cannot be deleted by server administrators. Such MP3 files can be downloaded in the normal fashion but they will have to be renamed so that you can play it when it is stored in your hard disk. Another way could be to unzip the file using Winzip if the file has a .zip or.gz extension. Renaming these files should be done carefully. You should first select the file in Windows Explorer. Then press F2 and rename the extension as .mp3. Sometimes, this extension change does not show up because Windows is hiding the filename extension. The next step is to go to the View menu and click on the Folder Options. Select the View tab and click on “Hide file extensions for known file types”. If this does not work, the last resort is to open the MS-Dos window and go to the MP3 directory.

MPEG Audio Layer 3 or MP3 is an audio coding scheme inside a video compression program. Earlier, saving a high-quality video on a computer was not feasible as it was time-consuming and would consume a large amount of memory. It has now become easy to download a song within seconds.
